Hopefully, gitAnnexLocation, gitAnnexDir, and gitAnnexObjectDir are only used on local repos. But, I have not audited fully, since they're probably not (see for example copyToRemote). And so, the functions fall back to their old non-bare-aware behavior for non-local repos.
