* Remove GrFontScaler class.Gravatar bsalomon2016-05-17
| | | | | | | | | | This class is now effectively a set of helpers for interacting with a SkGlyphCache by GrBatchTextStrike. The class is deleted and the code is made into static functions in GrBatchFontCache.cpp BUG=chromium:608566 GOLD_TRYBOT_URL= https://gold.skia.org/search2?unt=true&query=source_type%3Dgm&master=false&issue=1985163002 Review-Url: https://codereview.chromium.org/1985163002
* Remove GrFontDescKey.Gravatar bsalomon2016-05-17
| | | | | | | | | | | This was a reference counted wrapper of SkDescriptor. It doesn't seem like the copies are performance critical. This gets us closer to removing GrFontScaler. Also removes some unused member functions on GrBatchTextStrike and GrFontScaler. * Separate user and raw stencil settingsGravatar cdalton2016-05-11
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Adds a new GrUserStencilSettings class that describes in abstract terms how a draw will use the stencil (e.g. kAlwaysIfInClip, kSetClipBit, etc.). GrPipelineBuilder now only defines the GrUserStencilSettings. When the GrPipeline is finalized, the user stencil settings are then translated into concrete GrStencilSettings. At this point, GrClipMaskManager only needs to tell the GrAppliedClip whether or not there is a stencil clip. It does not need to modify stencil settings and GrPipelineBuilder does not need AutoRestoreStencil. This is one step of the stencil overhaul. In the future it will also allow us to clean up the special case handling for nvpr and the stateful fClipMode member of GrClipMaskManager. * Rename lots of things from 'sRGB' to 'GammaCorrect', where appropriateGravatar brianosman2016-04-13
| | | | | | | | | | | Trying to be much more explicit about where we really mean sRGB as a format, and where we mean gamma-correct, as in: "not legacy behavior". Most of the changes to rendering behavior are dependent on the latter, so let's be precise. BUG=skia: GOLD_TRYBOT_URL= https://gold.skia.org/search2?unt=true&query=source_type%3Dgm&master=false&issue=1884873006 Review URL: https://codereview.chromium.org/1884873006
* sRGB support for distance field text.Gravatar brianosman2016-04-12
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Add a second distance field adjust table that only applies contrast, not fake-gamma correction. Store a flag in the batch at creation time, using the same logic we apply elsewhere (render target format, plus paint flags). That gets us close, but not as good as bitmap text. The final step is to use a linear step function (rather than smoothstep) to map distance to coverage, when we have sRGB output. Smoothstep's nonlinear response is actually doing some fake-gamma, so it ends up over-correcting when the output is already gamma-correct. Results are now very close between L32 (old table, smoothstep) and S32 (contrast-only table, linstep). * sRGB text fake-gamma progress:Gravatar brianosman2016-04-07
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Determine if we should use fake-gamma based on the render target format and paint parameters (ie will gamma-correct blending happen?). Plumb that down to the appropriate places in the bitmap text rendering for now. Still need to alter the behavior of the DF text renderer (using the same cue, most likely?). Also, this still doesn't account for the contrast hack. The end result of this change is a pleasant normalizing of weight when viewing text in the gpusrgb config. (Dark text gets heavier, light text gets lighter). * SkSurfaceProps now has a gamma-correct ("AllowSRGBInputs") flag. That's ↵Gravatar brianosman2016-04-06
| | | | | | | | | | | | propagated in a few places so that the backend can do the right thing for L32 vs S32 mode. Also added SkSurfaceProps to SkSpecialImage, so that Image -> Surface conversion can preserve the desired behavior during filtering. Many small changes, including a bunch of comments about places where we may be losing information right now. My approach was to ensure that if anything fails, it will always fall back to "legacy" mode - gamma-correctness is opt-in, so I'll just have to feed things through as missing cases are exposed. * Avoid drawing NVPR DIF text when text size is 0Gravatar kkinnunen2016-03-04
| | | | | | | | | | | Avoid drawing text when using NVPR and device independent fonts. The drawing calculations cause division by zero and produce NaNs to transforms (due to fTextInverseRatio). Reproed by top25desk_twitter.skp as well as the added testcase. * Simplify and combine SkDrawCacheProc and SkMeasureCacheProc to ↵Gravatar benjaminwagner2016-02-23
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | SkPaint::GlyphCacheProc. All callers of (the result of) SkPaint::getDrawCacheProc were passing zero as the last two arguments. This is the same as (the result of) SkPaint::getMeasureCacheProc(true). Per bungeman, make this typedef a member of SkPaint. Although the typedef is technically public, the only uses are private, so this is not really an API change. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | There are a couple of reasons for this: - Vulkan does not guarantee conversions from integral vertex attributes to floating point shader variables - This may be faster and more precise on some platforms, as it avoids the aforementioned conversion and changes a multiply by a very small value to a multiply by a medium-sized value.
