Meanwhile, a simplified interface is provided in loc.mli.
This also permits to put Pp in Clib, because it does not depend on
CAMLP4/5 anymore.

Two gains:
- no Summary in Grammar.cma
- get rid of the hack concerning error_invalid_pattern_notation

longer be bound to Funclass or Sortclass (this does not seem to be
useful). [An exception is when using modules, if a constant foo is
expanded into a type, a "Bind Scope sc with foo" starts binding
Sortclass].
Also reworked reference manual for Arguments Scopes and Bind Scopes.

Added support for recursive entries in ARGUMENT EXTEND, for right-hand
sides of ARGUMENT EXTEND raising exceptions and for right-hand sides
referring to "loc". Also fixed parsing level of initial value in
create_arg (raw instead of glob). Thanks to the Ssreflect plugin for
revealing these problems.

Util only depends on Ocaml stdlib and Utf8 tables.
Generic pretty printing and loc functions are in Pp.
Generic errors are in Errors.
+ Training white-spaces, useless open, prlist copies random erasure.
Too many "open Errors" on the contrary.

These annotations are purely optional, but could be quite helpful
when trying to understand the code, and in particular trying to
trace which which data-structure may end in the libobject part
of a vo. By the way, we performed some code simplifications :
- in Library, a part of the REQUIRE objects was unused.
- in Declaremods, we removed some checks that were marked as
useless, this allows to slightly simplify the stored objects.
To investigate someday : in recordops, the RECMETHODS is storing
some evar_maps. This is ok for the moment, but might not be in
the future (cf previous commit on auto hints). This RECMETHODS
was not detected by my earlier tests : not used in the stdlib ?

(it does not work)
Indeed, if a rule in operconstr at some level starts with an ident, it
has to be declared as a keyword because other rules whose leftmost
call is a call to operconstr will eventually the top level "200" even
thought this leftmost operconstr might be declared at a lower
level. This is for instance the reason why "True /\ forall x, x=0" is
parsed even though /\ expects arguments at level less than 80 and
forall is at level 200.

(an articulating ident needs to be a keyword if the constr entry that

Also fixed is_ident_not_keyword which only looked at the first letter

for adding spaces were not taken into account in notations containing
patterns of the form "{ ident symbol", paradoxically resulting in
adding extra spaces, e.g. when printing the type "{ x | P x }" of
"exist", due to interferences with the heuristic for adding breaking
points in Metasyntax.make_hunk).
Also adapted output of test InitSyntax.v after commit r14018 improved
the printing of "ex P" and "sig P".

In particular, the unused lib/tlm.ml and lib/gset.ml are removed
In addition, to simplify code, Libobject.record_object returning only the
('a->obj) function, which is enough almost all the time.
Use Libobject.record_object_full if you really need also the (obj->'a).

- Added support for recursive notations with binders
- Added support for arbitrary large iterators in recursive notations
- More checks on the use of variables and improved error messages
- Do side-effects in metasyntax only when sure that everything is ok
- Documentation
Note: it seems there were a small bug in match_alist (instances obtained
from matching the first copy of iterator were not propagated).

The choice between camlp4/5 is done during configure with flags
-usecamlp5 (default for the moment) vs. -usecamlp4.
Currently, to have a full camlp4 compatibility, you need to change
all "EXTEND" and "GEXTEND Gram" into "EXTEND Gram", and change "EOI"
into "`EOI" in grammar entries. I've a sed script that does that
(actually the converse), but I prefer to re-think it and check a few
things before branching this sed into the build mechanism.
lib/compat.ml4 is heavily used to hide incompatibilities between camlp4/5
and try to propose a common interface (cf LexerSig / GrammarSig).
A few incompatible quotations have been turned into underlying code
manually, in order to make the IFDEF CAMLP5 THEN ... ELSE ... END
parsable by both camlp4 and 5. See in particular the fate of
<:str_item< declare ... end >>
Stdpp isn't used anymore, but rather Ploc (hidden behind local module Loc).
This forces to use camlp5 > 5.01.

Cf tok.ml, token isn't anymore string*string where first
string encodes the kind of the token, but rather a nice
sum type. Unfortunately, string*string (a.k.a Plexing.pattern)
is still used in some places of Camlp5, so there's a few
conversions back and forth. But the penalty should be quite low,
and having nicer tokens helps in the forthcoming integration
of support for camlp4 post 3.10

- Many of them were broken, some of them after Pierre B's rework
of mli for ocamldoc, but not only (many bad annotation, many files
with no svn property about Id, etc)
- Useless for those of us that work with git-svn (and a fortiori
in a forthcoming git-only setting)
- Even in svn, they seem to be of little interest
git-svn-id: svn+ssh://scm.gforge.inria.fr/svn/coq/trunk@12972 85f007b7-540e-0410-9357-904b9bb8a0f7

- make links to section variables working (used qualified names for
disambiguation and fixed the place in intern_var where to dump them)
(wish #2277)
- mapping of physical to logical paths now follows coq (see bug #2274)
(incidentally, it was also incorrectly seeing foobar.v as a in directory foo)
- added links for notations
- added new category "other" for indexing entries not starting with latin letter
(e.g. notations or non-latin identifiers which was otherwise broken)
- protected non-notation strings (from String.v) from utf8 symbol interpretation
- incidentally quoted parseable _ in notations to avoid confusion with
placeholder in the "_ + _" form of notation
- improved several "Sys_error" error messages
- fixed old bug about second dot of ".." being interpreted as regular dot
- removed obsolete lexer in index.mll (and renamed index.mll to index.ml)
- added a test-suite file for testing various features of coqdoc
Things that still do not work:
- when a notation is redefined several times in the same scope, only
the link to the first definition works
- if chars and symbols are not separated in advance, idents
that immediately follow symbols are not detected
(e.g. as in {True}+{True} where coqdoc sees a symbol "+{True}")
- parentheses, curly brackets and semi-colon not linked in notations
Things that can probably be improved:
- all notations are indexed in the same category "other"; can we do better?
- all non-latin identifiers (e.g. Greek letters) are also indexed in the
same "other" category; can we do better?
- globalization data for notations could be compacted (currently there is one
line per each proper location covered by the notation)

(currently only one expansion but could be virtually made user-parametrizable).
Also fixed a bug in recursive notations happening with multiple-tokens
separators (see Notations.v in test-suite).

- Deactivation of short names registration and printing for
abbreviations to identical names, what avoids printing uselessly
qualified names binding where the short name is in fact equivalent.
- New treatment of abbreviations to names: don't insert any maximally
inserted implicit arguments at all at the time of the abbreviation
and use the regular internalization strategy to have them inserted
at use time.
- The previous modifications altogether make redirections of
qualified names easier and avoid the semantic change of r12349 and
hence allows to keep "Notation b := @a" as it was before, i.e. as a
notation for the deactivation of the implicit arguments of a.
- Took benefit of these changes and updated nil/cons/list/app
redefinition in "List.v".
- Fixed parsing/printing notation bugs (loop on partially applied
abreviations for constructors in constrintern.ml + bad reverting of
notations with holes that captured non anonymous variables in
match_cases_pattern).
- Add support for parsing/printing abbreviations to @-like constructors
and for reverting printing for abbreviations to constructors applied
to parameters only (function extern_symbol_pattern).
- Minor error messages fixes and minor APIs cleaning.

- Cleaning and uniformisation in command.ml:
- For better modularity and better visibility, two files got isolated
out of command.ml:
- lemmas.ml is about starting and saving a proof
- indschemes.ml is about declaring inductive schemes
- Decomposition of the functions of command.ml into a functional part
and the imperative part
- Inductive schemes:
- New architecture in ind_tables.ml for registering scheme builders,
and for sharing and generating on demand inductive schemes
- Adding new automatically generated equality schemes (file eqschemes.ml)
- "_congr" for equality types (completing here commit 12273)
- "_rew_forward" (similar to vernac-level eq_rect_r), "_rew_forward_dep",
"_rew_backward" (similar to eq_rect), "_rew_backward_dep" for
rewriting schemes (warning, rew_forward_dep cannot be stated following
the standard Coq pattern for inductive types: "t=u" cannot be the
last argument of the scheme)
- "_case", "_case_nodep", "_case_dep" for case analysis schemes
- Preliminary step towards discriminate and injection working on any
equality-like type (e.g. eq_true)
- Restating JMeq_congr under the canonical form of congruence schemes
- Renamed "Set Equality Scheme" into "Set Equality Schemes"
- Added "Set Rewriting Schemes", "Set Case Analysis Schemes"
- Activation of the automatic generation of boolean equality lemmas
- Partial debug and error messages improvements for the generation of
boolean equality and decidable equality
- Added schemes for making dependent rewrite working (unfortunately with
not a fully satisfactory design - see file eqschemes.ml)
- Some names of ML function made more regular (see dev/doc/changes.txt)
- Incidentally, added a flush to obsolete Local/Global syntax warning

1- Management of the name-space in a modular development / sharing of non-logical objects.
2- Performance of atomic module operations (adding a module to the environment, subtyping ...).
1-
There are 3 module constructions which derive equalities on fields from a module to another:
Let P be a module path and foo a field of P
Module M := P.
Module M.
Include P.
...
End M.
Declare Module K : S with Module M := P.
In this 3 cases we don't want to be bothered by the duplication of names.
Of course, M.foo delta reduce to P.foo but many non-logical features of coq
do not work modulo conversion (they use eq_constr or constr_pat object).
To engender a transparent name-space (ie using P.foo or M.foo is the same thing)
we quotient the name-space by the equivalence relation on names induced by the
3 constructions above.
To implement this, the types constant and mutual_inductive are now couples of
kernel_names. The first projection correspond to the name used by the user and the second
projection to the canonical name, for example the internal name of M.foo is
(M.foo,P.foo).
So:
*************************************************************************************
* Use the eq_(con,mind,constructor,gr,egr...) function and not = on names values *
*************************************************************************************
Map and Set indexed on names are ordered on user name for the kernel side
and on canonical name outside. Thus we have sharing of notation, hints... for free
(also for a posteriori declaration of them, ex: a notation on M.foo will be
avaible on P.foo). If you want to use this, use the appropriate compare function
defined in name.ml or libnames.ml.
2-
No more time explosion (i hoppe) when using modules i have re-implemented atomic
module operations so that they are all linear in the size of the module. We also
have no more unique identifier (internal module names) for modules, it is now based
on a section_path like mechanism => we have less substitutions to perform at require,
module closing and subtyping but we pre-compute more information hence if we instanciate
several functors then we have bigger vo.
Last thing, the checker will not work well on vo(s) that contains one of the 3 constructions
above, i will work on it soon...

(uniformisation of function names, classification). One of the most
visible change is the renaming of section_path into full_path (the
