Seizing this opportunity to generalize the possibility for different
associativity into simply reversing the order or not. Also dropping
some dead code.
Example of recursive notation now working:
Notation "[ a , .. , b |- A ]" := (cons b .. (cons a nil) .., A).

An open question: what priority to give to "abbreviations"?

A trick in counting spaces in a format was making the empty notation
not behaving correctly.

Previously to this patch, Coq featured to distinct logging paths: the
console legacy one, based on `Pp.std_ppcmds` and Ocaml's `Format`
module, and the `Feedback` one, intended to encapsulate message inside a
more general, GUI-based feedback protocol.
This patch removes the legacy logging path and makes feedback
canonical. Thus, the core of Coq has no dependency on console code
anymore.
Additionally, this patch resolves the duplication of "document" formats
present in the same situation. The original console-based printing code
relied on an opaque datatype `std_ppcmds`, (mostly a reification of
`Format`'s format strings) that could be then rendered to the console.
However, the feedback path couldn't reuse this type due to its opaque
nature. The first versions just embedded rending of `std_ppcmds` to a
string, however in 8.5 a new "rich printing" type, `Richpp.richpp` was
introduced.
The idea for this type was to be serializable, however it brought
several problems: it didn't have proper document manipulation
operations, its format was overly verbose and didn't preserve the full
layout, and it still relied on `Format` for generation, making
client-side rendering difficult.
We thus follow the plan outlined in CEP#9, that is to say, we take a
public and refactored version of `std_ppcmds` as the canonical "document
type", and move feedback to be over there. The toplevel now is
implemented as a feedback listener and has ownership of the console.
`richpp` is now IDE-specific, and only used for legacy rendering. It
could go away in future versions. `std_ppcmds` carries strictly more
information and is friendlier to client-side rendering and display
control.
Thus, the new panorama is:
- `Feedback` has become a very module for event dispatching.
- `Pp` contains a target-independent box-based document format.
It also contains the `Format`-based renderer.
- All console access lives in `toplevel`, with console handlers private
to coqtop.
_NOTE_: After this patch, many printing parameters such as printing
width or depth should be set client-side. This works better IMO,
clients don't need to notify Coq about resizing anywmore. Indeed, for
box-based capable backends such as HTML or LaTeX, the UI can directly
render and let the engine perform the word breaking work.
_NOTE_: Many messages could benefit from new features of the output
format, however we have chosen not to alter them to preserve output.
A Future commits will move console tag handling in `Pp_style` to
`toplevel/`, where it logically belongs.
The only change with regards to printing is that the "Error:" header was
added to console output in several different positions, we have removed
some of this duplication, now error messages should be a bit more
consistent.

The current solution may not be totally ideal though. We generate names for
anonymous evars on the fly at printing time, based on the Evar_kind data they
are wearing. This means in particular that the printed name of an anonymous
evar may change in the future because some unrelate evar has been solved or
introduced.

InitSyntax, PrintInfos: consequence of r16467 which improved printing of sigT
Notations2: consequence of r16470 on using notations while asked to
print the body of an abbreviation
Notations: fix from r16417 was incomplete (and by the way associated
to a wrong commit message)
names: related to commit r16205 which aligned "In environment" with
the variables of the environment (maybe should it be better to still have
"In environment" printed after "Error: " but I don't know how to do
it with a forced newline).

In interp/constrintern.ml, '_' for constructor parameter are required if you use
AppExpl ('@Constr') and added in order to be erased at the last time if you do not
use '@'.
It makes the use of notation in pattern more permissive. For example,
-8<------
Inductive I (A: Type) : Type := C : A -> I A.
Notation "x <: T" := (C T x) (at level 38).
Definition uncast A (x : I A) :=
match x with
| x <: _ => x
end.
-8<------
was forbidden.
Backward compatibility is strictly preserved expect for syntactic definitions:
While defining "Notation SOME = @Some", SOME had a special treatment and used to
be an alias of Some in pattern. It is now uniformly an alias of @Some ('_' must be
provided for parameters).
In interp/constrextern.ml, except if all the parameters are implicit and all the
arguments explicit (This covers all the cases of the test-suite), pattern are
generated with AppExpl (id est '@') (so with '_' for parameters) in order to
become compatible in any case with future behavior.

Indeed, if a rule in operconstr at some level starts with an ident, it
has to be declared as a keyword because other rules whose leftmost
call is a call to operconstr will eventually the top level "200" even
thought this leftmost operconstr might be declared at a lower
level. This is for instance the reason why "True /\ forall x, x=0" is
parsed even though /\ expects arguments at level less than 80 and
forall is at level 200.

(an articulating ident needs to be a keyword if the constr entry that
preceeds it is higher than the level of applications).
Also fixed is_ident_not_keyword which only looked at the first letter
and at the keyword status to decide if a token is an ident. This
allowed to simplified define_keywords in Metasyntax.

- Added support for recursive notations with binders
- Added support for arbitrary large iterators in recursive notations
- More checks on the use of variables and improved error messages
- Do side-effects in metasyntax only when sure that everything is ok
- Documentation
Note: it seems there were a small bug in match_alist (instances obtained
from matching the first copy of iterator were not propagated).

- Deactivation of short names registration and printing for
abbreviations to identical names, what avoids printing uselessly
qualified names binding where the short name is in fact equivalent.
- New treatment of abbreviations to names: don't insert any maximally
inserted implicit arguments at all at the time of the abbreviation
and use the regular internalization strategy to have them inserted
at use time.
- The previous modifications altogether make redirections of
qualified names easier and avoid the semantic change of r12349 and
hence allows to keep "Notation b := @a" as it was before, i.e. as a
notation for the deactivation of the implicit arguments of a.
- Took benefit of these changes and updated nil/cons/list/app
redefinition in "List.v".
- Fixed parsing/printing notation bugs (loop on partially applied
abreviations for constructors in constrintern.ml + bad reverting of
notations with holes that captured non anonymous variables in
match_cases_pattern).
- Add support for parsing/printing abbreviations to @-like constructors
and for reverting printing for abbreviations to constructors applied
to parameters only (function extern_symbol_pattern).
- Minor error messages fixes and minor APIs cleaning.
