* Fixing bug #2818.Gravatar Pierre-Marie Pédrot2014-09-03
| | | | | | Local Ltac definitions do not register their name in the nametab anymore, thus elegantly solving the bug. The tactic body remains accessible from the tactic engine, but the name is rendered meaningless to the userside.

* Adding a new "Locate Term" command, distinct from the raw "Locate" command.Gravatar Pierre-Marie Pédrot2014-07-21
| | | | | | | | The new Term version has essentially the same behaviour as the old "Locate", while the new raw searches for all types of objects. Also code merging with the "Locate Ltac". Fixes bug #3380.

* More monomorphic List.mem + List.assoc + ...Gravatar letouzey2013-10-24
| | | | | | | | | | | To reduce the amount of syntactic noise, we now provide a few inner modules Int.List, Id.List, String.List, Sorts.List which contain some monomorphic (or semi-monomorphic) functions such as mem, assoc, ... NB: for Int.List.mem and co we reuse List.memq and so on. git-svn-id: svn+ssh://scm.gforge.inria.fr/svn/coq/trunk@16936 85f007b7-540e-0410-9357-904b9bb8a0f7
* State Transaction MachineGravatar gareuselesinge2013-08-08
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The process_transaction function adds a new edge to the Dag without executing the transaction (when possible). The observe id function runs the transactions necessary to reach to the state id. Transaction being on a merged branch are not executed but stored into a future. The finish function calls observe on the tip of the current branch. Imperative modifications to the environment made by some tactics are now explicitly declared by the tactic and modeled as let-in/beta-redexes at the root of the proof term. An example is the abstract tactic. This is the work described in the Coq Workshop 2012 paper. Coq is compile with thread support from now on. git-svn-id: svn+ssh://scm.gforge.inria.fr/svn/coq/trunk@16674 85f007b7-540e-0410-9357-904b9bb8a0f7

* code simplifications concerning SummaryGravatar letouzey2013-04-22
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | - Most of the time, the table registered via Summary.declare_summary is just a single reference. A new function Summary.ref now allows to both declare this ref and register it to summary in one shot. - Clarifications concerning the role of [init_function]. For statically registered tables that don't need a special initializer, just do nothing there (see the new Summary.nop function). Beware: now that Summary exports a function named "ref", any code that do an "open Summary" will probably fail to compile. git-svn-id: svn+ssh://scm.gforge.inria.fr/svn/coq/trunk@16441 85f007b7-540e-0410-9357-904b9bb8a0f7

* The new ocaml compiler (4.00) has a lot of very cool warnings,Gravatar regisgia2012-09-14
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | especially about unused definitions, unused opens and unused rec flags. The following patch uses information gathered using these warnings to clean Coq source tree. In this patch, I focused on warnings whose fix are very unlikely to introduce bugs. (a) "unused rec flags". They cannot change the semantics of the program but only allow the inliner to do a better job. (b) "unused type definitions". I only removed type definitions that were given to functors that do not require them. Some type definitions were used as documentation to obtain better error messages, but were not ascribed to any definition. I superficially mentioned them in one arbitrary chosen definition to remove the warning. This is unaesthetic but I did not find a better way. (c) "unused for loop index". The following idiom of imperative programming is used at several places: "for i = 1 to n do that_side_effect () done". I replaced "i" with "_i" to remove the warning... but, there is a combinator named "Util.repeat" that would only cost us a function call while improving readibility. Should'nt we use it? git-svn-id: svn+ssh://scm.gforge.inria.fr/svn/coq/trunk@15797 85f007b7-540e-0410-9357-904b9bb8a0f7

* Print Module (Type) M now tries to print more detailsGravatar letouzey2011-05-11
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | "Print Module M" prints now by default both a signature (fields with their types) and a body (fields with their types and transparent bodies). "Print Module Type M" could be used both when M is a module or a module Type, it will only display th signature of M. The earlier minimalist behavior (printing only the field names) could be reactivated by option "Set Short Module Printing". For the moment, the content of internal sub-modules and sub-modtypes are not displayed. Note: this commit is an experiment, many sitations are still unsupported. When such situations are encountered, Print Module will fall back on the earlier minimalist behavior. This might occur in particular in presence of "with" annotations, or in the conjonction of a non-global module (i.e. functor or module type) and internal sub-modules. Side effects of this commit: - a better compare function for global_reference, with no allocations at each comparison - Nametab.the_globrevtab is now searched according to user part only of a kernel_name - The printing of an inductive block is now in Printer, and rely less on the Nametab. Instead, we use identifiers in mind_typename and mind_consnames. Note that Print M.indu will not display anymore the pseudo-code "Inductive M.indu ..." but rather "Inductive indu..." git-svn-id: svn+ssh://scm.gforge.inria.fr/svn/coq/trunk@14117 85f007b7-540e-0410-9357-904b9bb8a0f7

* Add (almost) compatibility with camlp4, without breaking support for camlp5Gravatar letouzey2010-05-19
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The choice between camlp4/5 is done during configure with flags -usecamlp5 (default for the moment) vs. -usecamlp4. Currently, to have a full camlp4 compatibility, you need to change all "EXTEND" and "GEXTEND Gram" into "EXTEND Gram", and change "EOI" into "`EOI" in grammar entries. I've a sed script that does that (actually the converse), but I prefer to re-think it and check a few things before branching this sed into the build mechanism. lib/compat.ml4 is heavily used to hide incompatibilities between camlp4/5 and try to propose a common interface (cf LexerSig / GrammarSig). A few incompatible quotations have been turned into underlying code manually, in order to make the IFDEF CAMLP5 THEN ... ELSE ... END parsable by both camlp4 and 5. See in particular the fate of <:str_item< declare ... end >> Stdpp isn't used anymore, but rather Ploc (hidden behind local module Loc). This forces to use camlp5 > 5.01. git-svn-id: svn+ssh://scm.gforge.inria.fr/svn/coq/trunk@13019 85f007b7-540e-0410-9357-904b9bb8a0f7

| | | | | | | | | | | - Many of them were broken, some of them after Pierre B's rework of mli for ocamldoc, but not only (many bad annotation, many files with no svn property about Id, etc) - Useless for those of us that work with git-svn (and a fortiori in a forthcoming git-only setting) - Even in svn, they seem to be of little interest git-svn-id: svn+ssh://scm.gforge.inria.fr/svn/coq/trunk@12972 85f007b7-540e-0410-9357-904b9bb8a0f7
* This big commit addresses two problems:Gravatar soubiran2009-10-21
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | 1- Management of the name-space in a modular development / sharing of non-logical objects. 2- Performance of atomic module operations (adding a module to the environment, subtyping ...). 1- There are 3 module constructions which derive equalities on fields from a module to another: Let P be a module path and foo a field of P Module M := P. Module M. Include P. ... End M. Declare Module K : S with Module M := P. In this 3 cases we don't want to be bothered by the duplication of names. Of course, M.foo delta reduce to P.foo but many non-logical features of coq do not work modulo conversion (they use eq_constr or constr_pat object). To engender a transparent name-space (ie using P.foo or M.foo is the same thing) we quotient the name-space by the equivalence relation on names induced by the 3 constructions above. To implement this, the types constant and mutual_inductive are now couples of kernel_names. The first projection correspond to the name used by the user and the second projection to the canonical name, for example the internal name of M.foo is (M.foo,P.foo). So: ************************************************************************************* * Use the eq_(con,mind,constructor,gr,egr...) function and not = on names values * ************************************************************************************* Map and Set indexed on names are ordered on user name for the kernel side and on canonical name outside. Thus we have sharing of notation, hints... for free (also for a posteriori declaration of them, ex: a notation on M.foo will be avaible on P.foo). If you want to use this, use the appropriate compare function defined in name.ml or libnames.ml. 2- No more time explosion (i hoppe) when using modules i have re-implemented atomic module operations so that they are all linear in the size of the module. We also have no more unique identifier (internal module names) for modules, it is now based on a section_path like mechanism => we have less substitutions to perform at require, module closing and subtyping but we pre-compute more information hence if we instanciate several functors then we have bigger vo. Last thing, the checker will not work well on vo(s) that contains one of the 3 constructions above, i will work on it soon... git-svn-id: svn+ssh://scm.gforge.inria.fr/svn/coq/trunk@12406 85f007b7-540e-0410-9357-904b9bb8a0f7
