* [located] Push inner locations in `reference` to a CAst.t node.Gravatar Emilio Jesus Gallego Arias2018-03-09
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | The `reference` type contains some ad-hoc locations in its constructors, but there is no reason not to handle them with the standard attribute container provided by `CAst.t`. An orthogonal topic to this commit is whether the `reference` type should contain a location or not at all. It seems that many places would become a bit clearer by splitting `reference` into non-located `reference` and `lreference`, however some other places become messier so we maintain the current status-quo for now.
* Delayed weak constraints for cumulative inductive types.Gravatar Gaëtan Gilbert2018-03-09
| | | | | | | When comparing 2 irrelevant universes [u] and [v] we add a "weak constraint" [UWeak(u,v)] to the UState. Then at minimization time a weak constraint between unrelated universes where one is flexible causes them to be unified.

* [ast] Improve precision of Ast location recognition in serialization.Gravatar Emilio Jesus Gallego Arias2018-02-22
| | | | | | | | | We follow the suggestions in #402 and turn uses of `Loc.located` in `vernac` into `CAst.t`. The impact should be low as this change mostly affects top-level vernaculars. With this change, we are even closer to automatically map a text document to its AST in a programmatic way.

| |/ / |/| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | In the test we do [let X : Type@{i} := Set in ...] with Set abstracted. The constraint [Set < i] was lost in the abstract. Universes of a monomorphic reference [c] are considered to appear in the term [c].

|/ | | | | | | | They are now bound at the library + module level and can be qualified and shadowed according to the usual rules of qualified names. * Allow declaring universe constraints at definition level.Gravatar Matthieu Sozeau2017-09-19
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | Introduce a "+" modifier for universe and constraint declarations to indicate that these can be extended in the final definition/proof. By default [Definition f] is equivalent to [Definition f@{+|+}], i.e universes can be introduced and constraints as well. For [f@{}] or [f@{i j}], the constraints can be extended, no universe introduced, to maintain compatibility with existing developments. Use [f@{i j | }] to indicate that no constraint (nor universe) can be introduced. These kind of definitions could benefit from asynchronous processing. Declarations of universe binders and constraints also works for monomorphic definitions.

This is very peculiar and needs more investigation as the aforementioned file does not have any sections or any universe polymorphic definitions! commit fc785326080b9451eb4700b16ccd3f7df214e0ed Author: Amin Timany <amintimany@gmail.com> Date: Mon Apr 24 17:14:21 2017 +0200 Revert STL to monomorphic commit 62b573fb13d290d8fe4c85822da62d3e5e2a6996 Author: Amin Timany <amintimany@gmail.com> Date: Mon Apr 24 17:02:42 2017 +0200 Try unifying universes before apply subtyping commit ff393742c37b9241c83498e84c2274967a1a58dc Author: Amin Timany <amintimany@gmail.com> Date: Sun Apr 23 13:49:04 2017 +0200 Compile more of STL with universe polymorphism commit 5c831b41ebd1fc32e2dd976697c8e474f48580d6 Author: Amin Timany <amintimany@gmail.com> Date: Tue Apr 18 21:26:45 2017 +0200 Made more progress on compiling the standard library commit b8550ffcce0861794116eb3b12b84e1158c2b4f8 Author: Amin Timany <amintimany@gmail.com> Date: Sun Apr 16 22:55:19 2017 +0200 Make more number theoretic modules monomorphic commit 29d126d4d4910683f7e6aada2a25209151e41b10 Author: Amin Timany <amintimany@gmail.com> Date: Fri Apr 14 16:11:48 2017 +0200 WIP more of standard library compiles Also: Matthieu fixed a bug in rewrite system which was faulty when introducing new morphisms (Add Morphism) command. commit 23bc33b843f098acaba4c63c71c68f79c4641f8c Author: Amin Timany <amintimany@gmail.com> Date: Fri Apr 14 11:39:21 2017 +0200 WIP: more of the standard library compiles We have implemented convertibility of constructors up-to mutual subtyping of their corresponding inductive types. * | [cleanup] Unify all calls to the error function.Gravatar Emilio Jesus Gallego Arias2017-05-27
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This is the continuation of #244, we now deprecate `CErrors.error`, the single entry point in Coq is `user_err`. The rationale is to allow for easier grepping, and to ease a future cleanup of error messages. In particular, we would like to systematically classify all error messages raised by Coq and be sure they are properly documented. We restore the two functions removed in #244 to improve compatibility, but mark them deprecated.

| * | Code cleaning in unification algorithm for universes.Gravatar Pierre-Marie Pédrot2017-04-27
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch is only moving code around and expliciting statically the invariants of the functions, so it should be 1:1 equivalent to the other one. Amongst other goodies, the unification function is not recursive anymore, which ensures that it will terminate.
* | | [location] Make location optional in Loc.locatedGravatar Emilio Jesus Gallego Arias2017-04-25
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This completes the Loc.ghost removal, the idea is to gear the API towards optional, but uniform, location handling. We don't print <unknown> anymore in the case there is no location. This is what the test suite expects. The old printing logic for located items was a bit inconsistent as it sometimes printed <unknown> and other times it printed nothing as the caller checked for `is_ghost` upstream.

* | Unify location handling of error functions.Gravatar Emilio Jesus Gallego Arias2016-08-19
|/ | | | | | | | | | | | | | In some cases prior to this patch, there were two cases for the same error function, one taking a location, the other not. We unify them by using an option parameter, in the line with recent changes in warnings and feedback. This implies a bit of clean up in some places, but more importantly, is the preparation for subsequent patches making `Loc.location` opaque, change that could be use to improve modularity and allow a more functional implementation strategy --- for example --- of the beautifier.
