* Grammar: "allowing to" is not proper EnglishGravatar Jason Gross2014-08-25
| | | | | | | | | | | I'm not quite sure why, but I'm pretty sure it's not. Rather, in "allowing for foo" and "allowing to foo", "foo" modifies the sense in which someting is allowed, rather than it being "foo" that's allowed. "Allowing fooing" generally works, though it can sound a bit awkward. "Allowing one to foo" (or "Allowing {him,her,it,Coq} to foo") is always acceptable, in-as-much as it's ok to use "one". I haven't touched the older instances of it in the CHANGES file.

* Remove compile-command pragmas for emacsGravatar letouzey2010-05-19
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | These declarations (e.g. make -C .. bin/coqtop.byte) are quite annoying when debugging stuff over the whole archive: all of a sudden, M-x recompile isn't doing what you intended just because you've visited some specific files. Instead: - Feel free to rather add intermediate targets in the Makefile if they aren't there yet. - For avoiding typing the -C with many .. after, you can have a look at my recursively-descending make: http://www.pps.jussieu.fr/~letouzey/download/make.sh which is to be renamed make and placed in a bin dir with more priority than /usr/bin. Beware! I've already add a few bad surprises with this hack, but it's really convenient nonetheless. git-svn-id: svn+ssh://scm.gforge.inria.fr/svn/coq/trunk@13014 85f007b7-540e-0410-9357-904b9bb8a0f7

* Last changes in type class syntax: Gravatar msozeau2009-01-18
| | | | | | | | | | | | - curly braces mandatory for record class instances - no mention of the unique method for definitional class instances Turning a record or definition into a class is mostly a matter of changing the keywords to 'Class' and 'Instance' now. Documentation reflects these changes, and was checked once more along with setoid_rewrite's and Program's. git-svn-id: svn+ssh://scm.gforge.inria.fr/svn/coq/trunk@11797 85f007b7-540e-0410-9357-904b9bb8a0f7

Parsing allows theses new forms too, even if not in -unicode, and does not make Π or λ keywords. As usual, criticism and suggestions are welcome :) Not sure what to do about "->"/"→" ? - [setoid_replace by] now uses tactic3() to get the right parsing level for tactics. - Type class [Instance] names are now mandatory. - Document [rewrite at/by] and fix parsing of occs to support their combination. - Backtrack on [Enriching] modifier, now used exclusively in the implementation of implicit arguments. git-svn-id: svn+ssh://scm.gforge.inria.fr/svn/coq/trunk@10921 85f007b7-540e-0410-9357-904b9bb8a0f7

Removed redefinitions of \land, \lor, \lnot: there are nicely handled by Hevea. Split headers.tex file into headers.sty (for LaTeX) and headers.hva (for Hevea). This allowed removing comments like %BEGIN LATEX and %HEVEA and also commands \makeatletter, \makeatother. git-svn-id: svn+ssh://scm.gforge.inria.fr/svn/coq/trunk@9752 85f007b7-540e-0410-9357-904b9bb8a0f7

| | | | | | | | | | | Redefined the \index command in doc/refman/headers.tex only for Hevea. Now all sectioning commands (from \part to \subparagraph) store the value of their counter in the command \@indexlabel. It is this command that is used inside the new \index. Thus, the index shows only the the most recent sectioning command, but not \index, \theorem, etc. git-svn-id: svn+ssh://scm.gforge.inria.fr/svn/coq/trunk@9745 85f007b7-540e-0410-9357-904b9bb8a0f7
